In a world where socks transform into storytellers and teapots twirl to life, behold the mysterious series of The Wunderbriefs at the Festival of Animated Objects!
The Wunderbriefs are short mask or puppet interactions flexible enough to pop up in corners, hallways, sidewalks, lobbies and basements. Crafted from the whimsy of a suitcase, or in the box of an old radio, in the charm of a wagon, or an enigma of objects wandering through space. These are not just mini shows; they’re spectacles, marvels, the very essence of animated extraordinary!
This project is supported by the Canadian Academy of Mask and Puppetry to develop bold and new creative ideas within these art forms. Finished works will be presented during the 2024 Festival of Animated Objects.

ABIGAIL MONARREZ & NYX ORR
r u home yet, run by Abigail Monarrez and Nyx Orr is a collection of two lost souls on a journey of healing through art. We create sustainable, interdisciplinary theatre that is unfathomable and ephemeral. We have a main focus on blending movement, poetry, theatre, and fine art.
Nyx is a queer emerging artist, creator, and delightful catastrophe. They find inspiration in people, in puddles, in poetry, and in the treasures found in the depths of trash cans. Nyx loves to create theatre that is wild, in-your-face, and messy. They’ve acted, clowned, directed, moved, devised, and written their way through a drama degree at the University of Lethbridge and the University of Calgary, and are excited to keep learning and creating.
Abby is an emerging creator and professional attempter of many things. She is known for trying on many hats such as muralist, scenic painter, actor, teacher, dancer and writer. She finds joy in
getting her hands and painting clothes dirty. Abby is enrolled at the University of Calgary as a Visual Studies Major, Drama Minor, with Concurrent Education. She is on the endless quest to make art that combines her love of art and drama in a way that moves people.
EVELYN DELGADO
